Starting at Daisy Mae’s on the Race Street end of the market, you’ll get a brief introduction to Findlay Market and then wind your way around, stopping by six specialty merchants for some world bites, sips and a bit of history.

Participating merchants may include Fresh Table, Churchill’s Fine Teas, Mama Lo Hizo, Dean’s Mediterranean Imports, Dojo Gelato, and Taste of Belgium and more; each tour’s six merchants will be confirmed on Facebook as soon as they’re set. For an extra $5, you can tack on a wine tasting at Market Wines.

Cape Breton Highlands National Park has 26 hiking trails and 24 stunning viewpoints along the Cabot Trail, so it is definitely worth the small price of entry to get out of your vehicle and explore. The entire route is approximately 170 miles (274 km) in length.

5. Great Ocean Road - Victoria, Australia

Only 60 miles (93 km) from Victoria's capital of Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road winds alongside the Southern Ocean from Torquay to Portland. Created by soldiers returning from the First World War, the route is more than 180 miles (290 km) and includes a variety of sites such as world-renowned beaches, national parks, and shipwrecks. The most famous spectacle along B100 is the Twelve Apostles, a natural formation of limestone stacks which seem to magically rise from the Southern Ocean. There are two walkways alongside the Twelve Apostles so park your car and get a great photo.

Valentine’s Day sewage tour back by popular demand

NEW YORK:  Lovers of the unusual are getting another chance to impress their Valentines this year in New York City.

The Department of Environmental Protection is again offering Valentine’s Day tours of the Newtown Creek sewage treatment plant in Brooklyn’s Green point section.

The DEP says it’s offering three tours this year due to overwhelming demand.

The 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. tours were quickly filled. So another was added at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Highlights include the plant’s giant egg-shaped digesters, which break down noxious waste into harmless sludge and gas.

During last year’s tour, the plant’s gung-ho superintendent warned the visitors a digester egg was about to emit a foul odor. It didn’t disappoint.
