The Skyride has operated since 1987 and replaced an earlier chairlift, which had opened in 1963. The Skyride opened 19 April 2008 after major work had been carried out on the station's roof. At the end of 2008 season the original Skyride gondolas were replaced with smaller and more colorful gondolas. At approximately 22:30 on 21 July 2009, a fire broke out in the Cloud Cuckoo Land station. It remained closed for the rest of the 2009 season. The station has reopened in the 2010 season.
